Hailey Lozier – Flame Band Manager
Hailey is the Band Manager.
She assists the band members to broaden and improve life skills through different experiences in the community. Hailey travels with the band across the country to run sound and mix for audiences to enjoy.
Hailey started with the band as a Music Business Intern while attending the Schenectady County Community College School (SCCC) of Music. During this time, Hailey had the opportunity to produce, mix, and master Flame’s album titled ‘Christmas Classics’ at SCCC’s music studio. Hailey soon graduated from SCCC with a degree in Music Audio Technology and was hired to work with the band as an Assistant Music Coordinator. Hailey was quickly promoted to the band’s Music Coordinator and most recently to Band Manager.
Since being with the band, Hailey has also had several opportunities to mix for other very successful musicians, including Chris Jamison of NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ and most recently, Svetlana and the Delancey Five – a very talented group of Jazz musicians based out of NYC.
Hailey has been a music lover her entire life and a musician from a very young age, writing her first song at 8 years old. Hailey started as a singer, then studied flute, tenor saxophone, piano, guitar, and ukulele. Hailey has released an album and several singles with her own music group and enjoys creating music with and for international artists at her home studio. Hailey also films music videos and takes photography through her home studio, as well. Hailey enjoys spending her days off with her family in Fultonville, NY.
Michaela Staie – Music Coordinator
Michaela is a Music Coordinator, a Job Trainer Specialist, and a Sound Specialist for the members of the band Flame.
She assists the band members to broaden and improve life skills through different experiences in the community. Michaela travels with the band across the country to run sound and mix for audiences to enjoy.
Michaela started with the band as a Music Audio Technology Intern while attending the SUNY Schenectady School of Music. During this time, Michaela had the opportunity to produce, mix, and master Flame’s original song “I Am Me” at SCCC’s music studio. She also had the opportunity to run the soundboard for Flame at a few gigs. Michaela soon graduated from SUNY Schenectady with a degree in Music Audio Technology and was hired to work with the band as a Music Coordinator.
Michaela has run the sound department of many theater productions for her alma mater, Broadalbin-Perth Central School District since the age of 13. She also had the opportunity to perform the Sisters’ arrangement of the National Anthem at a Mohawk’s game in high school. Michaela also wrote an original song for her high school graduation and performed it at the ceremony.
Michaela has been a music lover her entire life and a musician from a very young age, singing at church from the age of 3 and starting euphonium at age 10. Michaela is a professional euphoniumist and also sings and plays electric bass, upright bass, piano, trombone, and tuba. She enjoys spending her days off with her family and friends in Broadalbin, NY.
Jacob Kindon – Music Coordinator
Jacob is a Music Coordinator, a Job Trainer Specialist, and a Sound Specialist for the members of the band Flame.
He assists the band members in introducing new songs and working on them during rehearsals. He also supports the band in broadening their independence and community skills. Jacob will travel with the band across the state and the country to help run sound and mix for audiences to enjoy.
Jacob previously worked within the Johnstown School District as a band/general music teacher. He went to the College of Saint Rose for his undergrad and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. (While working with the band, he then achieved his master’s in music education through Eastern Washington University online).
Jacob has had many performing opportunities as well, including the opportunity to work with multiple Elvis tribute artists and performing in multiple pit orchestras for musicals during his high school years. While working in the Johnstown School District, he fostered performance opportunities through yearly concerts that he helped organize.
Jacob has always loved music. Starting from his early years, Jacob constantly found himself in performance opportunities, such as school plays, musicals, and ensembles. He is able to play many instruments up to an 8th grade level and can play trumpet at a professional level. Jacob likes to spend his free time with his wife and 3 dogs in Amsterdam, NY, while continuing to work on his music skills.
Dominic Tortorello – Job Trainer Specialist/Flame Bus Driver
Dominic is a Job Trainer Specialist and the tour bus driver for the members of the band Flame.
He supports the band in broadening their independence and community skills. He also supports the band members on-the-job at practices and performances so they can build their job skills. Dom drives the Flame bus for the band across the state and the country and also helps with merchandise sales at performances.
Dominic has previously worked with other agencies that support people with learning differences and has been a CDL driver for 10 years. He has also worked for news stations in the Capital Region, providing him with knowledge and expertise in media that will greatly benefit the band in its endeavors.
Dominic is a huge music lover and enjoys working with people of all abilities to live their best lives. Dominic likes to spend his free time with his wife and family in Amsterdam, NY.
